Goals of the East Bay Center for Mathematics Educators
- To support the work of the Charles M. Dana Center in facilitating the work of Study of the Common Core Standards and Math Curriculum Development K-12
- To provide expertise and support to schools and districts who are addressing significant student need in mathematics achievement
- To provide classroom support to teachers in the areas of co-teaching and differentiation of instruction in mathematics
Professional Development to Improve Student Achievement in Mathematics
- Math Addvantage Training: EBEC works as a national training site for this program. The goal of the work is to support the assessment and instruction for students who struggle with mathematics.
- Moving Mathematical Thinking Forward: A series of workshops focused on Numeracy Development and Math Intervention Strategies for RTI
- Implementing the Workshop Model as a Tool for Differentiation
- Creating a District Developmental Numeracy Continuum
- Managing Math Work Stations
- Implementing Differentiated Numeracy Activities
Teacher Support to Improve Mathematics Learning
- Coaching individual teachers and co-teaching teams
- Developing and supporting lab classrooms
- Implementing a co-teaching model
- Facilitating study groups
- Modeling & developing a wide range of intervention strategies for Tier 1 and Tier 2 RTI
- Support for Math Coaches through an ongoing network/study group
